Title: Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Nicole Ernst, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), has worked with CHI since June of 2014. She is a Mental Health Specialist II and works with the Therapeutic Foster Care Program in CHI’s Behavioral Health department, seeing children, adolescent and adult clients.
She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2001 and her master’s degree in counseling psychology in 2004. She has extensive experience working with children and adolescents and spent 10 years working with emotionally disturbed adolescents through the Department of Juvenile Justice.
She received the ACTion Hero Award in January 2015. During two separate incidents in the evening hours, Ernst went above and beyond to help two families with foster children in crisis situations.
“Ernst consistently demonstrates tremendous dedication and passion for her job,” said Ilem Morales, LMHC Supervisor for Foster Care. “The work time clock does not exist to Ernst. She does what needs to be done, no matter the time.”
In her spare time, Ernst enjoys running and volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters.
