CHI operates an HIV/AIDS program at both the Doris Ison Center and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Clinica Campesina Center.
The C.A.R.E.S (Comprehensive AIDS Resources and Education Services) Department is funded by several organizations such as: Ryan White Title I with Miami-Dade County, the South Florida AIDS Network (SFAN), the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) with the Department of Health, the Department of Children and Families, and the Public Health Trust (PHT).
Individuals and families are provided with HIV testing and counseling, linkage to medical and dental care, Case Management services, nutrition counseling, outreach services, medication assistance and more.
CHI also provides individual and community-wide education, assistance with referrals to other social services, and ancillary support services for Persons Living With AIDS (PLWA). As most programs aimed at this affliction, our goal is the prevention of HIV/AIDS through education, counseling, and other means of community awareness.
