The CHI Volunteer Services Office strives to meet the needs of the health centers by providing volunteers who offer an extra dimension of care and service to patients, their families and visitors, as well as enhancing the services rendered by the paid staff. They are extensions of our employees and their caring extends beyond just health care.
Volunteer assignments are made in accordance with the interest, abilities and vocational goals of the volunteer and the needs of the health center. CHI is fortunate to have dedicated volunteers serving in many areas of the organization: radiology, lab, human resources, logistics, public relations, behavioral health, and others.
There are benefits for the volunteers as well. “Here at CHI, volunteers fine tune their skills and use their knowledge and experience for a cause greater than themselves,” said Carol Blackwell-Curry, Volunteer Program Manager at CHI. “They find meaning in the caring and commitment they demonstrate daily serving the community at CHI.”
Volunteers from age 14 and older are encouraged to apply and make a difference in the community and its residents. Call Carol Blackwell-Curry at 305-253-5100 ext. 2018 and join a distinguished group of individuals whose motto is “Patient Care Comes First.”
